2021 November

It’s the best time of the year to be Thankful and give back to our community. November brings Thanksgiving and also higher demands for our food banks. The LHAECPTA collected items to be donated to Feed Lake Highlands. Donations are welcomed year round. Feed Lake Highlands collects food, toiletries, and handles paper bags every Tuesday morning from 10am-2pm at The New Room on Whitehurst. You can pull right up and the fabulous volunteers will help you unload your car. Super easy to do with kids in tow.

2021 October

This month we are preparing for colder weather and collecting NEW coats and hat/mitten sets for 22 Pre-K students at Thurgood Marshall Elementary. We were able to donate 35 Coats and 33 sets of mittens. There were some extra so if anyone loses their or if new kids join the school they will have a coat ready. We had so much participation with this donation thanks to others from the LH Moms page that we were also able to fulfill a wish list – BOOKS! 76 books were purchased for the children to encourage reading with parents. Each student was able to take home 3-4 books each.

2021 September

We put together 45 baby bags for Refugee Services of Texas, Inc. It was so much fun getting together to make an impact in our community. I know it’s often hard as moms with littles to find the time to do service work. Thank you to everyone who came out to help and/or lent an extra pair of eyes to watch the children run and play while we prepared the bags.
