RISD Clothes Closet Program

With the way our children grow like weeds, we all have clothes that they have outgrown that are still in great shape. Well, we have the perfect place for you to donate those gently-used items. RISD and the Council of PTA’s jointly run a project known as the Clothes Closet. The purpose of the Clothes Closet is to help RISD students in need by providing five days worth of gently worn, in-style, school appropriate clothing and toiletries for their use. Each student is also given new socks, underwear, athletic shoes, hat and gloves. This service depends entirely on the ability of this community to provide volunteers, clothing, shoes and toiletries needed. Monetary contributions are used to purchase the new items mentioned above and to fill the gaps as needed for jeans, tops, jackets and shoes. Currently the greatest need is for girl’s coats and boy’s brief/boxers. This service is provided to children from Pre-K to high-school. If you would like to donate, items may be dropped off on Mondays from 9am – 11am at 970 Security Row, Richardson 75081.
